  • Teaser Tuesday – Persuasion

    teaser_tuesdays1MizB of Should Be Reading hosts the Teaser Tuesdays weekly event

    Here are the rules:
    * Grab your current read
    * Let the book fall open to a random page
    * Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12
    *You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
    * Please avoid spoilers!

    This week’s teaser is:
    ” Whether former feelings were to be renewed must be brought to the proof; former times must undoubtedly be brought to the recollection of each; they could not but be reverted to; the year of their engagement could not but be named by him, in the little narratives or descriptions which conversation called forth.”

    pg. 46  – Persuasion by Jane Austen

    – Since I finished Pride and Prejudice, it’s time to move forward with more Jane Austen books. Got to get them checked off my 30 by 30 list. And since Pride and Prejudice was like pulling teeth for me to read, I decided next up should be the shortest. Is that lame? Just a little bit. 🙂 So even though the book doesn’t have Rupert Penry-Jones like the newest movie version does, I fully expect to enjoy this book.

    1. Persuasion is my favorite Austen novel. (Not that this should surprise anyone.)
