    This week’s teaser is:
“Sam studied her mother’s scribbled notes in the margain of the ledger book. If only she could tell her mom her plan to save the ranch she would, but the timing was more than a little off. As soon as Angie heard the words bull and rodeo, she’d go berserk–even under the best of circumstances.”
pg. 70  – Rodeo Sweetheart by Betsy St. Amant

    – I’m super-excited about this new book from my friend Betsy. She’s a super-fast writer, which is good news for her fans who are getting books in rapid succession. Rodeo Sweetheart doesn’t disappoint! It’s on sale on Thursday, so don’t miss out. I’ll share more of my thoughts on it next week.

    This week’s teaser is:
“But Adam heard the current of satisfaction and even glee lurking beneath. He knew his brother’s itch for trouble had grown to an all-out rash lately, and any pretext to attack the Specks wouldn’t be overlooked.”
pg. 33  – The Bride Backfire by Kelly Eileen Hake

    – Another pick-up from the library, I haven’t really started this book, but it looks cute. In the tradition of the Hatfields and McCoys, this is a story of family grudges and forbidden love. What’s not to enjoy?

    This week’s teaser is:
“The tension in her body melted at the soothing sound of Mrs. Gerson’s voice, then seized in her chest as she jolted up in the bed. Collin … Charity … married. The thought of it was too much, and a choked sob wrenched from her lips.”
pg. 163   – A Passion Most Pure by Julie Lessman

    – This book has come highly recommended, and even though I just started it, I totally see why. It’s a great start to an award-winning trilogy called The Daughters of Boston. I’m so glad my library had it for me to check out.

    This week’s teaser is:
“He wasn’t supposed to know who Sabrina was. Wasn’t supposed to know she had a cat allergy. What would happen if he suddenly had a cat?”
pg. 77   – Seaside Letters by Denise Hunter

    – I’m enjoying this sweet love story set on Nantucket. The backcover makes it clear that our heroine Sabrina knows that our hero Tucker is her “secret” e-mail admirer. But she thinks Tucker has no idea who she is. Wrong! He totally knows, and that’s why he’s hired her to help find his “mystery” e-mail gal. He’s hoping it’ll open her up, and she’ll come clean about who she really is. I’m about a third of the way through the book, and while it’s not a super-fast read, it’s defintiely engaging.

    This week’s teaser is:
“Unemployed. Single. And out of brownie mix.'”
pg. 7   – A Valentine’s Wish by Betsy St. Amant

    – I usually pick a random couple lines for Tuesday Teasers, but I just absolutely loved the opening line of this sweet romance by my friend Betsy St. Amant. You’ll remember that I interviewed Betsy last summer when her first book with Steeple Hill Return to Love came out. A Valentine’s Wish is a follow up to Return to Love, but it’s definitely its own story. I’m only a chapter in, and really enjoying it! Lori is a funny heroine, and Andy is a strong hero. I can’t wait to finish it, and you’ll hear more about it from me when I finish. Looking forward to it! If you’re looking for a sweet Valentine’s romance, be sure to pick this up at Amazon, Walmart, Barnes and Noble, or CBD.com.

    This week’s teaser is:
“I coughed to stifle a laugh. ‘You’re like one of my girlfriends, except you like sports as much as I do. I can talk about anything with you, and we have fun and stuff.’ I nodded. ‘Yep, you’re like a girlfriend with hairy legs.'”
pg. 126   – The Boyfriend Game by Stephie Davis

    – I got this book on Paperbackswap, and I confess to reading all 157 pages in one night. It’s a super-cute YA about a girl who loves soccer … and maybe the boy she practices with. It’s fast and easy, and so high school. Not that I’m so into the sports, but this was a really sweet story.

    This week’s teaser is:
“Northern sentiment had been inflamed further by the publicationof Harriet Beecher Stowe’s Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Less than a year after its publication in March 1852, more than three hundred thousand copies of the novel had sold in the United States, a rate rivaled only by the Bible. ”
pg. 161   – Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin

    – A gift from my sweet friend Johanna who knows how much I love Abraham Lincoln, Team of Rivals is a study of the political genius of Lincoln. Nearly 900 pages long, this book may look intimidating, but I’m loving the history in this book. And it’s perfect to enjoy a tidbit at time. If you enjoy history, particularly the Civil War, I bet you’ll like this book too.

“Linc removed the phone book  from a small shelf. The Seattle phone book had a bigger section just of government agencies than the entier Cedar Cove White and Yellow Pages. ”
pg. 156 – A Cedar Cove Christmas by Debbie Macomber

    – I had the pleasure of hearing Debbie Macomber speak at the ACFW conference this year in Denver. And then one day, I randomly ended up at breakfast with her! She’s a lovely woman, very friendly, and such a talented writer and speaker. This book is definitely sweet story of small-town life, and I highly recommend.

pg. 112 – Chronicles of Avonlea by L.M. Montgomery in Aunt Olivia’s Beau

    – What could be better than a slew of short stories by L.M. Montgomery in one book? Of course, fans know Ms. Montgomery as the author of Anne of Green Gables and the whole series of books about the redheaded orphan on Prince Edward Island. These stories are cute and fun and everything we’ve come to expect from this acclaimed author. So what’s your favorite book by L.M. Montgomery? Haven’t ever read a book by Montgomery? This is your chance to confess! 🙂

Sure, they’d accidentally given her favorite blouse to another customer, but … picketing the store? Petitioning the neighbors to do the same?”
pg. 91 – Fools Rush In by Janice Thompson

    – This is a really cute book, and I’ve barely been able to poke my nose into it yet, but I have a great feeling about it. What are you reading right now? Love it? Hate it? Why? Any recommendations?
