  • Teaser Tuesday – Fools Rush In

    teaser_tuesdays1MizB of Should Be Reading hosts the Teaser Tuesdays weekly event

    Here are the rules:
    * Grab your current read
    * Let the book fall open to a random page
    * Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12
    *You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
    * Please avoid spoilers!

    This week’s teaser is:
    “It took sevearl nuns and a very patient priest to convince her that she could hear Mass just as well from a different pew. And then there was that episode with the dry cleaner. Sure, they’d accidentally given her favorite blouse to another customer, but … picketing the store? Petitioning the neighbors to do the same?”
    pg. 91 – Fools Rush In by Janice Thompson

    – This is a really cute book, and I’ve barely been able to poke my nose into it yet, but I have a great feeling about it. What are you reading right now? Love it? Hate it? Why? Any recommendations?

    1. The Fiddler’s Gun by A.S. Peterson
      “Peter stood back and watched her. She was beautiful: red hair wild, dancing in the green field, arms out, twirling, jumping, laughter like music. It was the first time that she’d been so carefree since Bartimaeus…”

      Have to stop there so I don’t give anything away. But I highly recommend this book – it has orphans, pirates, and high adventure set against the beginnings of the Revolutionary War.

      1. I’ve never heard of it, but that does sound excellent! I’ll have to look for it. Thanks for the suggestion. 🙂
